The use of Procreate does not need the use of an ongoing internet connection. No matter whether you’re connected to WiFi or not, you can use it in the same manner and with all of the same features.
A connection to the internet is only required for backing up or sharing a project with a cloud-based service, making in-app purchases, or upgrading Procreate via the App Store.

Does Procreate Need Internet or WiFi?
While many apps require some sort of Internet connection to work properly, Procreate doesn’t actually need to be connected to the Internet in order to function properly.
There are multiple reasons why this is, but what’s important is that you don’t have to worry about if your iPad or iPhone has internet or not while using Procreate.
DOES PROCREATE NEED INTERNET OR WIFI TO BE USED ON IPAD OR IOS DEVICES?
If you’re asking if you need internet or wifi to use Procreate, then as of right now it doesn’t need either.
It is a standalone application that does not require any outside sources in order to work. However, there are two reasons that you may want to connect your device to the internet and wifi.
The first is for uploading your designs directly from Procreate onto social media sites like Instagram and Facebook.
The second is that once a user uploads their creation into Procreates iCloud account they will be able to take their project from one device (iPad) and bring it over to another device (iPhone).
So as of right now no you do not need internet or wifi but there are two good reasons for why you should.
WHAT CAN I DO WHEN THE APP ISN’T CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET
The app doesn’t need an internet connection to function, but using features like iCloud and Google Drive requires an internet connection.
To save your work, you can use the Save Panel, email yourself a copy of your work, open it in another program on your computer that supports cloud storage (like Dropbox), then re-open it in Procreate when you’re back online.
You can also try saving a duplicate version of your files directly to your device’s Camera Roll/Picture Library first and then saving it again to Cloud Storage later when you’re back online.
It may be frustrating not being able to use some of these features without an internet connection, but keep in mind that our apps are designed for mobile devices—which usually have limited memory!
HOW DO I UPDATE MY VERSION OF PROCREATE FOR IPAD AND IPHONE WHEN THE UPDATE IS AVAILABLE
The update will be available via an over-the-air download, which means that it won’t require the Internet.
Your iPad will automatically notify you when there is an update available and then you just click on Install now.
It really is as simple as that! Here are instructions for those who don’t have automatic updates: 1) Go to Settings -> iTunes & App Store 2) Check for Updates 3) Tap on Procreate and install the latest version.
WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS OF THE APP SHOWING ‘COULD NOT DOWNLOAD’ OR ‘RETRIEVE’
There are a few ways to go about troubleshooting these issues. Sometimes it’s as simple as restarting your device and trying again.
If that doesn’t work, please ensure you have all of your internet connections enabled in settings (like WiFi).
If nothing is helping, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Procreate – sometimes an app gets corrupted and can cause unexpected behavior. Restarting your phone, changing accounts, and restarting Procreate all seem to help. Just don’t give up!

Here are some things to bear in mind before going into offline mode.
You should be prepared with all of the necessary materials and references.
It’s not acceptable to say, “Oh, guy! “I’m not able to draw this?”, right? In addition, because you don’t have to worry about ensuring that the layers are perfectly symmetrical, you don’t need to include the specified point.
Make sure you have everything you need on your iPad before you go on your vacation.
To get the app, just go to a coffee shop. Download them if you want to learn how to sketch a busy environment and how perspectives operate.
If you’re having trouble drawing anything crucial or are learning to draw for the first time, Google pictures and save them to your computer.
When it comes to human figures or anything that resembles a person, we all have our own unique artistic styles.
(For example, I prefer to design elf ears instead of human ears, which I get questioned about a lot!). You don’t have to do anything special to make yourself appear like someone else.
There may be times when this isn’t feasible; nonetheless, you don’t want others to condemn your insecurities on account of this.
Your Procreate software should be updated to the most recent version, as well as your iPad.
Do you really want to spend your time dealing with these software issues?
Nothing is more frustrating than sitting down to sketch only to discover that some of your tools are outdated.
Before you walk outdoors, double-check that your software is up-to-date since this is not something you want to encounter.
Make a copy of all of your important data.
While you’re working, save all of your files. Pro format on your iPad’s folders. You won’t believe how effective it is until you give it a go.
If you don’t back up your data, you might lose all of your work. And that’s the last thing you want, right? Everything you’ve worked for and endured will be for nothing.
You can back up after you’ve finished working, but it’s preferable to do it while you’re still working.
If you have access to the internet, you can upload them to a cloud storage service like Dropbox or Google Drive.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE APP STORE WHEN TRYING TO UPDATE MY VERSION OF PROCREATE
1. Start by checking to see if you have an internet connection
2. Open Settings -> General -> Date & Time
3. Make sure that Automatic is set to OFF and pick a timezone where you are located
4. Go back to Settings -> General
5. Scroll down and find iTunes & App Store
6. Turn on Use Cellular Data
7. Reboot your iPad
8. Try downloading again
9. If you still do not get through, try restarting your device as a last resort
ANY PROBLEMS WITH LOGGING INTO MY ACCOUNT OR PROFILE ON IPAD, IPHONE, OR COMPUTER?
No internet connection is required to use Procreate. Whether you’re at home, in an airport, at a coffee shop, or in a different country, procreate allows you to create art on your device without requiring an internet connection.
This also means that any changes you make will be saved and updated on your device as soon as it has access to data again.
For example: If you work for hours on a painting over wifi and then travel when you get home if will be ready for viewing!

WHY CAN’T I SEE MY PAST WORK ON MY IPAD AND IPHONE VERSIONS OF PROCREATE?
You don’t need internet for your iPad and iPhone versions of Procreate because it does not use iCloud to store your work.
You only need the internet for the desktop version if you want to access your past work from there. If you have no need for that, then you do not need to be connected.
Remember, you can always sync in person by hooking up a USB cable from your computer to your iPad or iPhone.
WILL I LOSE ALL MY WORK IF I DELETE PROPRIETY 2 FOR IPAD
YES, ALL OF YOUR WORK WILL BE LOST. IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE THIS YET, DON’T WORRY!
THERE IS A GREAT SHORTCUT IN THE IPAD’S SETTINGS THAT WILL LET YOU REINSTALL PROCREATE WITHOUT IT REQUESTING A NEW SERIAL NUMBER.
