Welcome to Art Designs & Gadgets Mellows, a Goto place for your Digital Art, Gadgets & Tech related Information, Tips, and Learnings.
Procreate is to sketching what Photoshop is to photos, at least in terms of what I use it for.
Procreate is one of the few programmes that allow me to achieve a state of flow, creative expression, or pencil-on-paper experience.
Keep in mind that you’ll want to strike a balance between the device’s weight and its size. Even said, the 12.9 model remains my favourite since it provides an incredible amount of area to draw while still allowing you to view part of your creativity.
A purchase of an iPad for Procreate is a smart investment if you are serious about studying and enhancing your digital art skills.
However, Purchasing a new iPad represents a major financial commitment, prompting the question: Is Procreate worth the financial investment of purchasing an iPad?
I would say yes!… I have included some ways to make money out of Procreate along with tools.

You can earn money using Procreate
If there was a way for you to earn money while doing something you enjoyed doing, wouldn’t that be fantastic?

Graphic Design for a Third-Party Firm
Many company owners are seeking innovative ways to market their products and services, just as digital illustration.
Often, they choose to outsource this work to someone like you, who can produce unique visuals, advertising materials, and even logos.
It’s a good idea to provide graphic design services on a project-by-project basis or as part of a larger package.
Is Procreate Good for Graphic Design? Procreate App Vs. Photoshop, Which Is Better?
You can do Commissioned work
Whatever Procreate projects you’re working on, commissions provide you with the opportunity to experiment with new techniques and tools while also giving you an idea of what’s hot and trendy in the creative world.
You may wish to begin with your family and friends first( I started doing this for my FB & Insta friends and Followers).
Your website should provide examples of the work you’ve done thus far. The most difficult part of this process is figuring out how much to charge.
Be sure to include both supply costs as well as time spent completing the job when calculating your charges.

iPad + Apple pencil for Procreate ?
There are just two styluses that are guaranteed to operate with Procreate: the Apple Pencil and the Logitech Crayon. If you want to get an iPad, it’s a smart idea to include one of these two styluses in your budget.
For the most part, iPad Pros and iPad Airs will be compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil, while regular iPads will be compatible with the less costly first-generation device.
It is possible that any other stylus may yield erroneous results.

Is it really worth it to purchase an iPad Pro?
A key element of Procreate is its portability, which is one of the program’s most powerful and significant characteristics.
While the most recent 5th version of Procreate will operate with the vast majority of recent iPads and Apple Pencils, iPad OS 13.0 or later will be required for it to function properly.
If you are running any of the operating systems (iOS 2013 or later), you are already prepared to begin using them.
iPad and Procreate are fantastic tools, and I enjoy being able to sit on the sofa and paint instead of being trapped at my workstation all the time.
However, there’s nothing you can do with Procreate that you couldn’t also accomplish on a PC.
Clip Studio is inexpensive and also can do whatever Procreate can do (except liquify, to the dismay of many) (except liquify, to the frustration of many). Medibang, Paint Tool Sai and Paintstorm Studio are more choices you might check out.
Many individuals certainly like the experience of sketching on an iPad, but it’s not going to provide you access to any huge capabilities you can’t get elsewhere.

Is an iPad worth it for ProCreate?
I’m sure it’s different for everyone, but here’s my experience with it and it is 100% per cent a game-changer!
I believed I was merely investing in my speed by acquiring an iPad, yet instead, I feel like my skills and personal preferences have jumped a year into the future. I’m doing various types of art that are way above what I was doing on paper.
And I’m extremely delighted with Procreate! I’ve been using Photoshop for over a decade (never able to really draw in it, however) but Procreate is extremely well designed and offers everything I need as a digital artist and designer.
I genuinely believe I’ve received my money’s worth out of it and then some in the last five-six months.
Well, I don’t use my iPad for anything else either.
If you’re feeling like there are things you’re ready to do or want to attempt but simply can’t accomplish it on paper to your satisfaction, then you’re a strong candidate for moving digital.

Which ipad( based on your requirement for Procreate
Procreate is only available for the iPad Pro. If you are using a tablet, you must be running iPadOS 14.4 or the latest versions.
Before you buy a tablet, make sure that it has the right iOS version for your tablet to use this app.
For a more affordable choice…
Get a normal iPad instead (the base model). At $450 with 32GB of storage, it’s the most affordable alternative, but it comes with a big enough screen (10.2″).
If you are just starting and if Procreate is your primary reason for purchasing an iPad, 32GB of storage should be plenty.
Because the Apple Pencil isn’t as quick as the more costly ones, you may feel a lag while writing with it. Invest in an iPad and an Apple Pencil.
When you need to do a lot of things at once…
Consider the iPad Air if you intend to use your iPad for more than just Procreate, such as capturing photographs, gaming in your free time, watching Netflix and editing movies, etc.
Unlike the iPad, iPad Air has twice as much capacity 64GB for $500 for the current edition and operates at a far higher rate of speed.
It’s worth noting, though, that the iPad Air is more expensive than the ordinary iPad. Invest in the iPad Air and the Apple Pencil for doing a lot many things that just procreate.
For the sake of convenience…
It’s best to get the iPad Mini. On the move, it features the smallest screen size (7.9″). In comparison to the iPad Air, it is also $150 less expensive.
Although the screen is tiny and cute, we don’t suggest this if the primary objective is to create artwork. Invest in the iPad Mini and the Apple Pencil.
For the largest screen… Bigger the better?
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is the biggest and highest-resolution tablet available. However, it is also the most expensive option. Buy this iPad if you are earning $ out of your Artwork gig, No need to buy this if you are still starting out.
When it comes to sketching & Drawing, you have no problem with the 10.5″ tablet because of the ability to zoom in and out at any time.
Unless you’re a skilled artist or designer who plans to utilise high-performance editing programmes, the price difference may not be worth the greater screen size.
It’s just for the elite & pro Artists.
Buy this option if you are a pro artist with many commission work lined up. It is Up to 1 TB of storage space that may be obtained on the iPad Pro, which is both incredibly powerful and gorgeous, thanks to its liquid retina display.
It is available with a screen size of either 11-inch or 12.9-inch in size. Because of its high-tech capabilities, it is conceivable to utilise the new iPad Pro as a laptop replacement.
It all boils down to your budget and the purposes for which you want to utilise the iPad pro. Make certain that you receive the Apple Pencil that is included with each iPad pro that you purchase.
When it comes to storage, screen size, performance, and mobility, you’ll need to take all of these considerations into consideration.
Before you buy a tablet, make sure that it has the right iOS version for your tablet. Also, there’s a version of Procreate called Procreate Pocket that can be used on an iPhone.
Manny's Cool Tips
- In addition to picking and manipulating objects, the selection tool may also be used to cut out forms from textured backgrounds.
- The pressure you apply to your iPad will be more adaptable when using an Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil isn’t required to create on the iPad if you have a stylus.
- To see a time-lapse movie of your project, go to Actions in the toolbar, then Video, then Time-lapse Replay in the menu. You may then share your time-lapse movie with others by exporting it. Remember to delete old Time-lapse videos as they take up a lot of storage.
- The Procreate Pocket app allows you to use Procreate on your iPhone even if you don’t own an iPad.
