4. The Drawing Book for Kids: 365 Daily Things to Draw- By Woo! Jr. Kids Activities

I really like to book because it is so visual and this works if your child is a visual learner.

The pictures are very large and easy to follow. I found this helpful for my 11-year-old and her hand and eye coordination.

She really found good drawing “tricks” to make animals or items. I think once he figured out that drawing was about hand coordination and making lines and circles go a certain way to make a shape, she really began to like the book.

I know for us we traced it first and then half drew the pictures using the examples and he filled in the rest.

The only complaint was that some of the figures were too much. I think the eagle and scarecrow had way too many lines to follow. The overall is review was that the book is a really good starter book for kids who want to learn how to draw.

5. How to Draw Cool Stuff: The 5 Minute Workbook – By Catherine V Holmes

It may not seem like a lot of time to work on a drawing when you consider that some artists take days, months, or even years to complete a single work of art. However, if you give yourself five minutes to work on the drawing, you will have plenty of time.
On the other hand, as the examples in this book will show, you can quickly sketch some really interesting things in under five minutes.
Artists will start to see only the most essential parts of a subject by limiting the amount of time they have to draw it, which will allow them to communicate action, movement, and expression in a single-timed drawing.
This book is crammed to the gills with detailed instructions that walk readers through the process of drawing interesting things in a flash – in five minutes or less! Catherine V. Sullivan is an author, artist, and instructor.
